Grimms’ Fairy Tales

  • Lovable characters get a break, as long as they are men.
  • Soldiers in Grimms’ are generally cunning and opportunistic.
  • Simpleton characters overcome their problems with kindness.
    • Society doesn’t change though.
  • Growing old is a slow process of enfreakment, where you become different from the norm of people.
    • If you are lucky enough to grow old, you will become disabled in some sense.
  • Society begins as a way of improving life, but eventually it becomes ideology, and anyone who’s trying to improve it becomes a burden to it.
    • The thing that was supposed to serve you ends up having you serve it.
